New Original Song: “The Deer Know What You Did To Me”

- If a listener equates themselves with the titular "Me," (i.e. a victim of mistreatment in the particular relationship they have in mind) they may feel encouraged (if with some trepidation) knowing they can always find sanctuary in the woods, where the deer sympathize with their plight.
- But, if the listener finds themselves as the titular "You," (i.e. the perpetrator of abuse against the previous listener) the listener may feel uneasy. In this case, the song evokes an unsettling feeling, as though walking through the woods at night -- knowing the deer are watching, and that they do not want you here...

Listening to: We Are Not Ourselves
By Halloween At High Noon. I love how this song captures the feeling of opening your front door to a busy street, full of happy trick-or-treaters. The title of the song reflects the spirit of Halloween, where we can hide behind masks and costumes and be whoever we want to be.
Then again, for so many of us, it feels like Halloween is the only night when we are ourselves....

Listening to: 0:59
Awesome song by Danger. The whole album is masterfully composed and feels very cinematic (as in, listening through, the album sounds as though it follows a story structure with rising action, climax, and resolution). It's like the soundtrack to a gritty cyberpunk action film that doesn't exist. 0:59 is definitely my favorite track from the album.
