Happy October!

A day late to the welcome party, but the sentiment remains! Less than a month to the big night!

Early September Yard Haunters

We were driving home from a date last night when I caught a glimpse of purple and orange lights down a side street.  I gave the ghoulfriend a bit of a start when I exclaimed "WOAH! Turn the car around!"

Pulling into the side street we were treated with a wonderful sight! A full-fledged yard haunt, and we aren't even a week into September yet!

(notice Sam from Trick R Treat in the window!)

Here's a quick video of the lights in action:

It was such a wonderful treat to stumble upon such a sincere display of Halloween spirit.  It absolutely made our night!  Come October, I think I'll leave a Great Pumpkin Project pumpkin for them. They clearly have the spirit of the season, and those headstones are seriously asking for a jack-o'-lantern

New shirt from Just Okay Company

Picked up this awesome Over The Garden Wall t-shirt from Just Okay Company.  They had a booth set up at a local market, and I couldn't pass it up.

They are currently taking online pre-orders for this shirt, which you can get here.

Here's a few other autumnal designs available on their website that I loved. Click each image for their respective store pages:

200 Days Until Halloween!

I feel so behind! I haven't even begun fabrication yet. I keep trying to wait for life to chill out for a minute so I can begin, but let's be real here: That aint gonna happen.

I better start soon though.  October will be here before I know it.

Merry Christmas from The Crop

I've traveled to my hometown for Christmas to visit family.  Back in 2021, I gave them some of my Halloween props from that year's yard haunt
I had forgotten, until I walked into the basement den...

My corpsecrows have been Christmas-ified by my mother! Such a fun surprise! Look how excited they are for the holidays.

I always figured that I'd be the only one in my family with a basement full of dead bodies... Turns out my mother beat me to it.
At least I know where I get it from.

Halloween 2022: The Carver

Beware of The Carver
On Hallowe'en Night.
A sharp knife he carries...
He's really a fright!

Don't let him catch you
With a shadow'd embrace...
He'll scoop out your seeds,
and carve you a face!

Turns out I was so excited to shoot video for this year's display that I photos kind of fell to the wayside... But I do have plenty of footage with even better angles.

Until I get that edited, here are the best of the photos I did take.

I'm quite satisfied with this year's theme, and I think it really came together. As with every year, I learned a lot (#1: When taking photos, make a shot list!). There's things I'll do again and things I'll do differently, but at the end of the day, I'm happy with this one.

My neighbor has already greenlit me for next Halloween!  I better get started...

Thanks to everyone who's been following the blog and my Instagram, your continued interest and support mean everything to me!
